A 65-year-old Nicosia woman died from heat stroke in the early hours of Wednesday.
The woman was already dead when she was transferred to Nicosia General Hospital emergency unit by ambulance and despite doctors’ efforts it was too late to save her, said Health Ministry senior medical officer Ioanna Gregoriou.
State pathologist Nicholas Charalambous who carried out the postmortem told The Cyprus Weekly the “the cause of death was heat stroke”
The woman was suffering from a chronic health problem and was in a room at her home without air-conditioning.
