A GEORGE Michael fan got the shock of her life when the singer called her at work to invite her to his next concert.

Kelly Bowdidge, 31, entered a competition on Heart FM to win tickets to see George perform at Earl’s Court in October. Entrants had to say why they should be chosen and what they would ask the pop icon.

The office manager, of Park Lodge Avenue, West Drayton, became hysterical when George, co-hosting Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston on Tuesday last week, surprised her with a phone call to her workplace, Signcraft.

“She could be heard on air shouting: ‘It’s George Michael! George Michael just said my name!

“I don’t know what to say and now I’m crying. I can’t believe I’m talking to you.

“You’re the best and I look such a mess!”

Miss Bowdidge, has seen her idol perform countless times, most recently at the Royal Albert Hall last year.

The fan is getting married next year and has already decided to include the George Michael song You and I as part of the celebrations.

She said: “I think I’m as excited about the concert as my own wedding. My fiancé, Daniel, appreciates the music and it’s a standing joke around here how much I adore George. He knows the rules.”

Kelly, who has lived in West Drayton all her life, says she has been a  George Michael fan since she was two.

She added: “I’m still in shock. I can’t believe that I actually spoke to George.

“I was so overwhelmed, I couldn’t even ask him any questions.”
