Tottenham Hotspur have agreed an undisclosed fee to sign Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
Adebayor, 28, scored 18 goals in 37 appearances during a loan spell at the London club last season.
New manager Andre Villas-Boas confirmed Spurs’ interest on Thursday when he said: “We are extremely willing to have Adebayor on board with us.”
The Togolese will become the 34-year-old’s third signing after defender Jan Vertonghen.
