Outside work has been banned by the Labour Inspectorate of the Ministry of Labour in Larnaca, Limassol and Paphos.
In the first such decree issued this year, work in the direct sunlight is prohibited between noon and 4pm. Lifght work in shaded areas is permitted but only if plenty of cool water is available.
The reason given is the combination of heat and humidity in those areas.
In the Famagusta and Nicosia area, employers are urged to take the welfare of ermployees into account with regard to outside labour.
