Nancy Johnson, age 73, a British/Australian grandmother, retired teacher and former Red Cross volunteer who suffers from Alzheimer’s, has gone missing from Tsada (near Paphos), Cyprus since Tuesday 19th June 2012.

Nancy moved to live in Cyprus with her husband, George (age 76, retired RAF) in July 2011.

Nancy left home to go for a walk in the area close to her house, just east of Tsada village, at around 3pm on Tuesday 19th June but failed to return. Her husband reported her missing to local police later that day.

Nancy was last seen at 4pm just outside Tsada village, when she approached a lady in her garden saying she was “a bit confused” and “can’t find my way home”. The lady asked her where she lived and gave her directions.

Nancy has not been seen or heard from since. No new leads, information or evidence have since been uncovered.

Police have conducted searches of the area at ground level, with police search dogs and by helicopter.

The husband, friends, neighbours, members of the local British expat community and local villagers are continuing to search and circulate Missing Person posters for Nancy in the surrounding area of Tsada and Paphos. Nancy and George’s son, Richard, flew to Cyprus from London to assist with the search.

Nancy and George’s daughter, Hayley, and grandchildren are resident in Brisbane, Australia. Hayley’s husband (Nancy’s son-in-law and father to Nancy’s grandchildren), is serving with the Australian Army and currently posted in Melbourne, Australia. All are very worried for Nancy and hoping that she can be found and safely returned home to her husband, George, as soon as possible.

The British and Australian High Commission’s in Cyprus are aware of the situation and are providing consular assistance.
