Seventeen year old Harry Panayiotou made his debut for Leicester City on Saturday coming on as sub replacing Lloyd Dyer in the 73rd minute versus Leeds United and scoring the winning goal in added time as Leicester won the game 2-1. It was Leicester’s final game of the 2011–12 season at Leeds United home at Elland Road.

Harry Panayiotou whose Father is Cypriot origin and mother Afro Caribbean started his career at Leicester City where he is a product of their youth academy.

Leicester Boss Nigel Pearson said: “It was good for Panayiotou to get the experience. It’s nice to blood young players. “He has done very well for the Academy side this year and this will give encouragement to our other young players.”

Panayiotou’s goal was a rare highlight in a match with nothing but pride at stake. Pearson added: “We finished with a win but that’s the best you can say about it.” It wasn’t meant to be like this.
