Russian citizens should not buy property in the occupied north of Cyprus, the Russian Foreign Ministry has warned.
A spokeswoman said that the area is an ‘illegal state entity’ and that Russian citizens purchasing property there made themselves liable to legal action.

It also warned that in some circumstances, people buying such land without the consent of the owner could be committing fraud, which attracted apenalty of seven years in prison.
