THE Furzefield Centre Gym, in Mutton Lane, Potters Bar, has reopened its doors to the public following the completion of a £250,000 revamp.
Kitted-out with state-of-the-art
technology, members can set themselves fitness goals and record their progress electronically. The workout machines can also give tips on how to improve their
fitness regime.
Decked out in chrome with the predominance of grey steel it shrieks modernity, complete with the latest trend in gym equipment chic – the Power Plate, favourite of Madonna and designed to speed up exercise.
Brenda Patten, Hertsmere Council’s member for leisure, culture and health, said: “One of the council’s priorities is to help create healthy, thriving communities and provide sports and cultural
opportunities for everyone.”
Gym membership rates start from £37 a month and so far it has proved popular.
Centre manager Barry Ellis said: “We have been inducting approximately 200 people a day to the new gym. Increasing numbers of people are interested in membership as they seek to shift the pounds they put on over Christmas.”
