A 29-year-old victim was attacked shortly before 1.30pm on Wednesday in Elder Avenue, between Middle Lane and Tottenham Lane.

Police are hunting for a suspect described as being of Mediterranean appearance, wearing a red Puffa-type jacket, who is believed to have made off down Middle Lane towards Priory Road.

Officers found the victim sitting on a step and being given first-aid by two members of the public.

He was taken to The Whittington hospital in Magdala Avenue, Archway, and was treated for a small stab wound. He was discharged later that day.

Police say his attacker is understood to have been seen prior to the incident loitering outside the Banger Brothers restaurant at the junction of Tottenham Lane and Elder Avenue.
