Second Division

Achna 3 Pantel 2: This was the biggest shock of the day Achna getting their second win of the season against a much recently improved Pantel who were very poor on Sunday. Maybe because they took the lead as early as the first minute with Gadaffi they thought they were in for an easy game, but it did not take Achna long to equalise with a goal from Stylianou. It was great end to end football Pantel scored after a mix up in the penalty area and Gadaffi was on hand to score again. Achna kept on battling and were able to equalise when Alex Kyriacou popped up scoring with a cracking header straight into the goal from a corner. It was not going to end there with ten minutes to go Greg Christoforou missed a good one to one chance to score with only the Pantel keeper to beat. A minute later from an identical situation he made amends and scored, that turned out to be the winning goal. Achna remain second from bottom with six points and Pantel fourth with seventeen points.

Maronites 1 Apoel 3: Although the score suggests a comfortable win for Apoel it wasn’t, Maronites were always a danger up front with Adam Ali their key man. The first 20 minutes they had chances galore Elia Aganthangelou missed a couple of chances . Adam Ali went past three players before shooting to make Pantel’s keeper Kalli pull off a great save. So it wasn’t long before Maronite’s got a goal which was scored by Elias Aganthangelou.  Mark Sophocleous  equalised for Apoel with a great long range shot which went in off the bar. Apoel then went onto score another two goals with Eden and Jason Mason. This leaves Apoel in second place on 24 points with two games in hand over leaders Olympia who have 27 points.

Arachne 3 KLN 1: Arachne gave a convincing performance versus KLN they were one nil up within 15 minutes with a goal from Damien Spyrou who also scored a second just before half time. KLN came back in the game with a goal from Jesse. They are now playing good football but without a goalkeeper KLN are finding it tough. Lorenzo Toumazos sealed the game for Arachne in the last five minutes.

Olympia 4 Anorthosis 3: This was the match of the day great all action, Olympia started the ball rolling with a goal from Antonis Pratsides, Anorthosis equalised with Keiron Donaldson. Straight after the break Olympia took the lead again with a goal from Keren Pascal , Anorthosis would not give up and came back with an own goal  and with seven minutes to go they scored and took the lead with a goal from George Kailo making it 3-2. It then went crazy and Olympia got two penalties one was scored by Vince Rispoli the other by Keren Pascal. This win keeps Olympia top on 27 points and Anorthosis fifth with 16 points.

Pendayia 0 Komi Kebir 0: A draw was arguably a fair result for both sides. Pendayia started the game the better of the two teams playing the ball around nicely and forcing Komi to play quick, long football. However the quality of football from both teams dipped as the half went on and neither team had many chances with the only highlight of the half coming when a long range effort from Komi was superbly pushed wide by the Pendayia goalkeeper. The second half was similar to the first with both teams playing good football but being unable to find an end product. With 10 minutes to go in the game Komi were reduced to 10 men and Pendayia pushed on for the win but were unable to get the breakthrough.
