Alki performed the biggest surprise of this season by beating Apoel 2-1. Apoel must dislike playing Alki as this is their third defeat to them in recent years. Apoel were leading from the third minute from a goal from Triskofski and must have thought they had the game in the bag. Alki responded with a great performance and were able to equalise in the 35th minute with a goal from Conte. In the second half Apoel hit the woodwork three times and in added time Conte popped up to score the shock winner for Alki to lift them to seventh place.

 In the other match on Sunday AEL beat Enosis Neon Paralimniou 4-0 to return to the top of the table with Vouo scoring a hat trick and Edmar scoring the other goal. AEL top with 34 points, Apoel second with 32 and Omonia on 31 points with a game in hand on both teams playing tonight versus third from bottom Aris.
