STUDENTS at Middlesex University were delighted to see their artwork on stage as part of a hit musical starring The Who’s lead singer Roger Daltrey.
The students helped create part of the set used in the rock opera called Tommy which has toured the UK as well as the United States and Canada.
Roger Daltrey said: “I gave the students my ideas about how I perceive Tommy. The way I see it is that we’re all Tommy. I told them to feel it from the inside. And the stuff they came up with is absolutely wonderful.”
The group used a variety of methods including film, stop frame photography and 2d and 3d animation which was shown on a large screen behind the band.
Third year animation student Zac Karayianni, 22, said: “The reason I do animation is to make people smile so for people to see my work is just great.
“It was a great experience and I couldn’t ask for anything better.”
