Two women have been caught on CCTV stealing £400 worth of alcohol from a supermarket, before having to push their getaway car to a service station after it runs out of petrol.
Rose Devlin, 59, and Denise Egan, 52, took the alcohol from Asda in Chadderton, Oldham in June.
Although not arrested at the time, they were later caught in October, after attempting to repeat the same theft.
Both women pleaded guilty to two charges of theft, with Egan, a mother-of-four, being given a conditional discharge for two years and ordered to pay £280 compensation.
Devlin has been committed to Manchester Crown Court for sentencing on December 13
