THIEVES are targeting valuables left in Peugeot and Citroen cars in Cheshunt and Waltham Cross.
The two French car makes have been the focus of a spate of break-ins during the past two or three weeks, according to police.
Broxbourne Chief Inspector Dave Newsome said: “We have had a number of Peugeots and Citroens being broken into.
Owners of these vehicles need to be extra vigilant about what they leave in the car.
Chief Insp Newsome added that removing valuables such as sat navs and bags would prevent drivers falling victim.
He said: “You will be less likely to be broken into if they are not apparent and on display. We are working hard to find out who is responsible.”
