Turkey should stop blaming the Greek Cypriot side for not making progress vis-a-vis a Cyprus solution and end its propaganda, aiming to create false impressions, Government Spokesman Stephanos Stephanou said Wednesday.

Commenting on statements made by Turkish President Abdullah Gul in London, Stephanou said that “the reunification of Cyprus will be possible if Turkey respects international law and ends the illegal occupation of a large part of the territory of the Republic of Cyprus, by implementing the Cyprus-related UN resolutions”.

The Government Spokesman, in statements to the Press after the conclusion of today’s session of the Ministerial Council, underlined that Turkey continues to violate since 1974 every notion of justice in Cyprus and instead of working in favor of a solution, Ankara promotes the creation of two separate states on the island.
