We must try to go out and support our U16 & U18’s KOPA & KOA Representative Teams this week.
The KOPA and KOA representative U16 and U18 teams play their second games this week the U18’s will be playing Thursday night December 1st and the U16’s Friday night December 2nd.
The U18’s will be playing Richmond College and U16 will be playing Eastern Junior Alliance Representative team. Both these games will be taking place at Haringey Borough Stadium, White Hart Lane, London N17 7JP at 7.45 pm.
Its important we go out there to support and encourage our two community teams this is the future of Cypriot football here and in Cyprus.
It’s also encouraging that scouts from Professional clubs have been telephoning to find out when the next games are. These two KOPA and KOA representative U16 and U18 teams have had training sessions at Haringey Stadium that have gone very well and have been a major success with over several good quality players turning up.
After the recent success of Cypriot teams in Europe and the Cyprus Under 21 team , it is no coincidence Cyprus are pushing for Youth players to represent them so this could be a stepping stone for our players.
Tom Loizou the manager has been very pleased with the progress of both teams but obviously we still need more players , he does stress they must be of a high standard if we are to play the Cyprus National sides in Cyprus next year and Academies here in England and obviously the players will get better with the coaching from qualified and experienced coaches we have on hand.
This is an initiative by KOPA and the Cyprus Sports Association (KOA) in Cyprus with the intention of some of these boys developing into better players and representing our community team and Cyprus National sides.
If you are a player , parent , Uncle or anyone who know of any players who would be eligible (this season’s U16s & U18s age groups) contact Michael Yiakoumi on 07958 207 412 or Email: [email protected]
