Former Finance Minister Michalis Sarris, who was due to appear today in a so-called court in the occupied areas has announced that he will not be attending.
He said in a statement that he had the agreement of the Attorney General in his decision and of other legal experts.
He said that the conditions of his arrest and detention, the methods used to get false evidence and the fact that the evidence has not been given to lawyers left no doubt that the conditions for justice did not exist.
There was, he said a political dimension to the whole issue.
Sarris added that his conscious was clear that he had not committed any offence.
He had been released on so-called bail of €47,000.
