Paphos is close to a deal to bring low-cost Ryanair flights to and from the coastal town.
According to an article in today’s Phileleftheros newspaper, exclusive sources have revealed that prominent people involved in the town’s tourism industry or otherwise linked to Paphos had over the last months been approaching Ryanair on the town’s behalf.
According to the paper “it has come to a point where it can almost be taken for granted that there will be a deal during the first three months of 2012.”
Ryanair flights to and from Paphos had been due to begin in October but were put off due to the ongoing financial crisis reducing interest in travel.
Phileleftheros said that Ryanair was expected to operate different routes out of Paphos than from Larnaca and base two aircraft there.
