President of the Republic Demetris Christofias will visit on Monday the Noble Homer Ferrington drilling rig where exploratory drilling is underway in the island’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) to locate possible hydrocarbons in the Republic’s Block 12 “Aphrodite”, south of Cyprus.

An official statement said that President Christofias will be accompanied by Commerce, Industry and Tourism Minister Praxoula Antoniadou, Agriculture, Natural Resources and the Environment Minister Sofoklis Aletraris, Government Spokesman Stephanos Stephanou and Under Secretary to the President Titos Christofides. Members of the media will also accompany the presidential entourage.

Houston-based ‘Noble Energy’, drilling rig begun drilling in Cyprus’ EEZ last September.
