POLICE are investigating the death of a woman in her 50s after a body was found in Whetstone two weeks ago.
Officers and paramedics were called to fields behind Grange Avenue at 4.30pm on Sunday November 6 after passersby discovered a badly burnt body.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are not treating the death as suspcious but have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
The woman is believed to be a Barnet resident. An inquest will be opened once formal identification has been made.
Police are waiting for the results of further forensic and toxicology reports from the post-mortem.
