A 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a number of offences including burglary and car theft.
The case arose when a Paphos woman told police her house had been burgled and her car stolen. Later the woman’s father saw the car being driven by a stranger and followed it to Yeroskipou, where he challenged the man and was threatened at knifepoint.
Locals gave chase and the man was stopped in a nearby street where police arrested him.
Some of the items taken in the burglary and in a previous break in were found on his person.
He has been charged with burglary and theft, car theft, taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, driving without a licence and carrying a weapon.
