Division 2

Apoel 2 Maronites 1: Both teams are promotion hopefuls and  did not live up to their expectations, the fans were expecting a top exciting game but it did not happen. Both teams were probably nervous about not losing than winning. Apoel took the lead in the first half with a goal from Chris Kyriacou. The second half livened up with both teams opening up and Maronites with no choce but to attack to try and get back in the game which they did, after putting pressure on the Apoel goal , the ball fell on the edge of the box to Dimitris Hitras who hit it back straight at goal and went straight over the Apoel defence straight into the back of the net. Apoel came back strongly and got their reward in the last few minutes with a goal from Richard Worrall give them a 2-1 win.

TIUTA Division 2 Cup Round 1:

Arachne 4 Komi Kebir 4 Arachne won on Penalties. This has got to be one of the best games I have seen all season. Worthy of being called a Cup tie. Komi Kebir took the lead but within minutes were 2-1 down Arachne’s goals coming from Leo and Tom this is how it continued  through all the game. Komi equalised then took the lead at 3-2 their goals coming from Mario Seyhou  and Andy Kyprianides.  Danny and Adam then scored two goals to give Arachne a 4-3 lead but with minutes to go Callum cropped up to give Komi Kebir  a well deserved equaliser.

Shame it now had to go into penalties as the game did not deserve a winner or a loser. In the nerve racking minutes to follow Arachne won the game on penalties to go into the second round. Both teams goalkeepers saved three penalties each in the shoot out.

Fulham Utd 4 New Salamis 2; This has got to be the shock of the day New Salamis  the current LFA Challenge Cup holders who have won this trophy two years on the trot losing their first game of the season.
