South Australian premier Jay Weatherill has made no secret that he will do all he can, including seeknig legan action, if less than 4000 gigalitres of water is returned to the Murray River in a revised plan yet to be released by the Murray-Darling Basin Authority.
Senator Xenophon told The Australian he would support the premier wholeheartedly on the provision the premier made sure water-efficient irrigators would receive the assurance they would not face further cuts. “South Australian irrigators can’t absorb 25 per cent cuts,” Senator Xenophon said.
