The Mayor of Haringey has appealed to residents to wear their poppies with pride this autumn, as details of ceremonies planned for Armistice Day and Remembrance Day are revealed.
Cllr Gina Adamou backed the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal that launched at the weekend. Poppy boxes accepting donations for the Poppy Appeal are at each of Haringey’s nine libraries, and the reception desks of Haringey Civic Centre and River Park House, both in High Road, Wood Green.
All are welcome at the borough’s Armistice Day and Remembrance Day services and wreath-laying ceremonies.
* Armistice Day, Friday, November 11, at 10.45am, War Memorial, Garden of Remembrance, Tottenham Cemetery, White Hart Lane, Tottenham.
* Remembrance Day, November 13, at 10.30am, wreath-laying at Hornsey War Memorial, Hornsey Health Centre, Park Road, Crouch End. Followed by 11am service at St Mary with St George Church, junction of Cranley Gardens and Park Road, Crouch End.
* Also at 10.45am, Wood Green War Memorial opposite Haringey Civic Centre, High Road, Wood Green, and at Tottenham War Memorial at Tottenham Town Hall, Town Hall Approach Road, South Tottenham. The latter preceded at 9.30am by service at Holy Trinity Church, Philip Lane, South Tottenham.
