Violence broke out in the centre of capital on Wednesday night with around 2,500 football hooligans smashing car windows and causing damage to vehicles following the APOEL-Zenit Champions League match.
According to the police, the vandalism is believed to have been caused by rampaging APOEL supporters celebrating their team’s victory.
The Omonia club house was also attacked as were several police patrol cars and a fire engine in Makarios Avenue.
Police are investigating the incidents and have said arrests are imminent.
