US CONGRESSMEN TURKISH THREATS AGAINST CYPRUS

Citing concerns about Turkeys support for Hamas and its on-going aggression aimed at Israel and Cyprus, US Congresswoman Shelley Berkley and Congressman Eliot Engel have released a statement of opposition to a proposed sale of U.S. military equipment to Turkey.

In their statement, Berkley and Engel expressed strong opposition to any U.S. arms sales to Turkey at a time when that nation continues to bully its neighbors — Cyprus and Israel — and has threatened a naval confrontation with the Jewish State.

Given Turkeys actions, we urge our Congressional colleagues to join us in rejecting any attempt to supply weapons to a country that is threatening some of Americas closest allies and supporting terrorist groups like Hamas, said Berkley and Engel.
