Apoel left it late to beat Apollon to go back on top of the first division in Cyprus. Their first goal came in the 71st minute with a well taken penalty from John Anastasiou.  The second came in the 87th minute from Ailton giving Apoel those vital three points.

In Sunday’s other game Anorthosis beat Alki 3-1 helped by their Cypriot International stars, Michalis Constantinou scoring twice and Okkas once. Alkis lone goal came in the last minute scored by Ferdiloskou. Anorthosis are now 4th in the table, Alki are 4th from bottom. (League Tables below)
