Brotherhood 4 Omonia 4: What a great game this was, you won’t get many better . Omonia were two up within twenty minutes with former New Salamis player Antonis Aristides scoring both goals. Omonia seem to be strolling along and to their surprise four minutes before half time Brotherhood scored two goals within two minutes one from Aaron Kennedy who was left with a free header to glide into the back of the net. The other was scored by Chris taking both teams into the break level.
In the second half both teams defences seem to disappear both teams were all out attacking a free for all game very exciting. Aaron Kennedy excelled for Brotherhood scoring another two goals giving him a hat trick and Brotherhood a 4-2 lead. Omonia were not going to give up and got it back to 4 -3 with back to fitness Chris Philippou and then the Green’s went on to equalise with ten minutes to go with Rob Collins.
It was not going to end there with both teams going full out for the winner , Omonia missing a couple of good chances and Brotherhood hitting the woodwork in added time.
Komi Kebir 1 Pendayia 2: Pendayia bottom of the table really needed this win but it was not easy for them . The game was even , both teams playing neat passing football with Pendayia taking the lead in the 20th minute with Chris Andrea. The second half got off to a lively start with Pendayia having a player sent off and Komi Kebir equalising with a well taken penalty by Jason Lambri.
Komi Kebir followed this by creating a couple of good goal chances but then Pendayia broke away on the counter attack and scored a goal with Jordan Shaw striking the ball inside the box wide of the Komi Kebir Keeper Aris and straight into the net. Minutes later Komi Kebir had a player sent off.
Tripimeni 7 Caribb 1: Tripimeni eventually got to play this LFA Sunday Challenge Cup round one game versus Caribb who failed to turn up for this game previously. Tripimeni were 5-0 up at half time. Caribb then got one back before Tripimeni scored another two goals to ensure their path into the second round.
Maronites 5 Sport Santer 2: Maronites put their stamp on the LFA Junior Cup winning 5-2 against Sport Santer. Maronites got off to a bad start they were losing 1-0, but by half time they were 3-2 up and eventually winning 5-2. Maronite’goals were scored by Frank, Lee Demetriades, Dinos Costa 2 and Matthew Demetriades.
