The big game of the day AEL v Anorthosis turned into a stalemate 0-0 draw both teams feared losing than thinking about winning few goal chances were created. AEL remain top and Anorthosis fourth for the moment with a chance Omonia overtaking them tomorrow.
Apoel after their great UEFA Champions League exploits this week defeated Ethnikos Achnas 2-1 with Charalambides scoring in the 35th minute and Triskofski in the 56th and 71st minutes to give Apoel a comfortable 3-0 win and keeping them in second place in the League.
In the other game New Salamis could not keep up their good run of results and lost at home to Apollon 2-1. All three goals came in the first half with the first in the 8th minute scored by Joao Paulo who also scored a second with a penalty in the 40th minute. Van Tornaout equalised for New Salamis in the 18th minute . This result leaves New Salamis in 6th position and Apollon one point below them in 7th place .
