Six males have been arrested after a disturbance in Wood Green yesterday that saw four people stabbed.
Police have extended their stop-and-search powers again as a result of the stabbings, which occurred at about 4pm at McDonald’s in Hollywood Green in the High Road.
Officers found four males with stab wounds, who were taken to hospitals in north and east London.
They were later discharged, only for three of them to be arrested in connection with the disturbance. Another three males were also arrested by police.
All six remain in custody at north London police stations.
Police patrols have been increased in the area and stronger stop-and-search powers are in place until 6am tomorrow right across Wood Green, Tottenham, South Tottenham and Hornsey post codes. It allows officers to search anyone – without cause for suspicion or specific intelligence to justify the request.
A police spokeswoman said: “Enquires continue and officers from Haringey CID are investigating this incident as a matter of priority.”
