A NEW support service has been launched in Finchley to suport black and minority ethnic parents and carers of children with disabilities.

Aidexcel Support Services’ Finchley branch was officially launched by Cypriot Barnet Mayor Councillor Lisa Rutter (Pictured aboveFaith Unoarumhi ) in a ceremony last week.

The service provides personalised support, advice and information, training, support groups and events.

Development director Faith Unoarumhi said: “A key principle of our organisation is that our services are provided free of charge to families, and the launch is to create awareness of the work that we do in Barnet, and how our services strengthen and contribute to the community as a whole.”

“We are very happy to work with professionals and volunteers from different organizations, so that we can increase access to services by black, minority ethnic and refugee families. The earlier we are involved in developing new services, the more effective we can be in contributing.”
