Forty-year-old Ioannis Piripitsis from Nicosia who was wanted by police in connection with serious crimes related to conspiracy, manslaughter and arson, appeared before Nicosia District Court Thursdat, where a remand order was expected to be issued against him.
 Piripitsis was arrested at the Ayios Dometios checkpoint at 4.30pm on Wednesday, as he tried to cross over to the government-controlled areas from the occupied areas.
Police spokesman Michalis Katsounotos said he was arrested in connection with crimes committed between October 8-10, 2011  in Nicosia and Larnaca.
