The under 18 Representative team got off to a good start with a 1-0 win over Alexandra Park at Haringey Borough stadium. It was the Under 18 Representative team first game , this team is the initiative of KOPA (Cypriot Football League in the UK) and KOA (Cyprus Sports Association).
This game got off to a slow start but once our Under 18’s settled down they were playing nice flowing football with the passing accurate they now started to find each other .
You could see there was a lot of passion in our play any 50/50 balls were going to go KOPA’s way.
The first goal came in the tenth minute from a low cross Fanos Chambi right footed into the back o0f the net. Fanos who played as a forward last night instead of as a defender and was a revelation. The second half Alexandra Park were busy defending against the KOPA team and could not break into KOPA’s half with Andy Anastasiou, George Chambi and Christos Alexandrou marshalling the KOPA defence. KOPA were continuously on the attack with Adam Andreou and Costa Azzapardi prominent on the left side.
KOPA had a free kick well saved by Alexandra Park’s goalkeeper Erik from Fanos Chambi the second goal eventually came in the 75th minute when Fanos Chambi from the edge of the box his shot went straight into the back of the net.
Tom Loizou the manager congratulated the side and the management team on a very good first performance and is sure we will be seeing the team get better.
