The Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus has announced that Bishop of Kyrenia, Pavlos, passed away on Saturday.

The Bishop’s funeral will take place on Monday, at Apostle Andreas Church, located in Aglantzia, Nicosia. Archbishop of Cyprus, Chrysostomos II will officiate the funeral, set to take place at 1400 (1100GMT).

The Bishop of Kyrenia was born in Larnaca on November 21, 1945.

In 1972 he graduated from the Theological Faculty of the University of Athens, Greece, and in 1985 he was awarded a PhD by the Theology Faculty of the University of Oxford.
