Alexandra Park North 2 – 5 AEK Gold
After their first two league games, AEK remain unbeaten in the Blue division after a great display away to Alexandra Park North.
In the first half, Alexandra Park put AEK defence under pressure with good team work from their midfield, and against the run of play, a move started by Alex Avraam allowed Anthony to thread through a pass to Tyrese to score for AEK. There was action at both ends with Lysandros making some quality saves. Alexandra Park equalised shortly after but AEK’s pressure was rewarded when Mario showed good skill to beat a defender and cross to Tyrese to score again. A further goal from Malachi assisted by Alex Avraam made the score 1-3 to AEK. Shortly after Irshad capitalised by a poor Alexandra defender backpass to make the score 1-4 at half time.
In the second half, Alexandra Park came out determined and played some great passing football. They were rewarded with a goal when their striker fired in a low shot in the corner of the net to make the score 2-4. Alexandra Park continued to attack but AEK’s defence; Anthony, Rishaad, Michael and Arun were resilient and Alexandra Park could not find a way through. Some good team work from the AEK midfield put Malachi through to beat the keeper and make the final score 2-5.
A great game for spectators to watch. Well done AEK Gold.
