A TEENAGER was left with cuts and bruises after two men assaulted him in Potters Bar.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the incident, which happened in The Walk, near to the junction with Watkins Rise, on Saturday September 17.

At around 9.40pm two men pulled up in a car alongside the 13-year-old victim and his group of friends.

Officers said the teenager was pulled away from the group and then assaulted, leaving him with cuts and bruises to his face.

The two men then got back into the car and drove off.

Investigating officer PC Ruth Cash said: “This sort of incident is a very rare occurrence in the local area and thankfully the boy was not seriously injured following the assault.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time the incident took place and witnessed anything to please get in touch. Did you see the assault take place or did you see the car? Perhaps you may know who the offenders are? Any information you provide no matter how small, could help us to identify those responsible for this crime.”
