Third Enfield stabbing in one week

A MAN in his 50s was stabbed in Edmonton last night – just one hour after a teenage boy was stabbed near Silver Street Station.

Following the attack, at 7.50pm in Victoria Road, the man was taken to an east London hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

It is the third stabbing in Edmonton in just one week.

At 6.50pm last night a 15-year-old boy was stabbed, in College Close outside Silver Street Station. He suffered life-threatening injuries and he is being treated in an east London hospital.

Last Wednesday Steven Grisales died after being stabbed in the chest, also in College Road, following a row over conkers.

Police chiefs say the Victoria Road stabbing is not connected to the attacks in College Close.

Enfield’s Borough Commander Dave Tucker, said: “Our officers are working hard to piece together what happened last night and trace those responsible.

Mr Tucker said he was keeping “an open mind” as to whether the two incidents in College Close are linked.

Anyone with information is asked to call Enfield CID on 020 8345 4404.

Chief Superintendent Dave Tucker, borough commander for Enfield, publicly sought to calm residents’ fears, insisting Enfield is still a safe place despite the outbreak of violence.

However, he admitted the spread of knife crime in the borough was a real concern for police right now.
