Police are investigating the attempted murder of two men from Syria, who were seriously injured in an attack by a group of six hooded persons in the early hours of Sunday.

The attack took place at the flat of the first victim, aged 27, in the tourist area near Pyla. The second victim, 42, was visiting when the six attackers entered the flat and set upon them with knives and clubs.

Both victims were taken to the Larnaca General Hospital by another tenant from the block of flats.
