Greek Cypriots attended evening prayers at occupied Morfou’s Agios Mamas church; Great security measures by the so-called policeTurkish Cypriot daily Haberdar (02.09.11) reports to the evening prayers held by around 400 Greek Cypriots in Agios Mamas church in occupied Morfou. Reportedly, having the fear of turnabouts after the crisis created at Agios Dometios barricade last Friday by Turkish settlers aiming to cross over to the government-controlled area of Cyprus and visit Hala Sultan Mosque in Larnaka, extended security measures were taken by the so-called police. As the paper writes, the people attended the mass, went through a body and bag search prior entering the church. According to the paper, the evening was concluded without any incidents.
