Businessman Antonis Fanieros has been returned to a holding cell following treatment at Nicosia General Hospital, police confirmed on Tuesday.
The suspect was arrested last week in connection with 20 charges, including racketeering, actual bodily harm, kidnap and robbery.
“A report detailing the conditions under which Fanieros was held at the hospital will be submitted to the chief of police in an attempt to improve the procedure of transferring detainees to medical facilities,” said a police spokesman.
