Turkish daily Sabah newspaper (24.09.11) writes that ships of the Turkish naval forces will escort the Koca Piri Reis vessel on its seismic surveys for oil drilling in the Mediterranean and reports that, if necessary, F-16 planes may be deployed in occupied Cyprus.

The paper writes that Turkey is planning to deploy one or two F-16 in occupied Cyprus, due to the flights that Israel may conduct in order to protect the platform for the oil drilling.
