Former Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash is in a critical condition in hospital in the occupied areas.
According to hospital representatives, Denktash is deeply unconscious and on a life-support machine.
He had undergone surgery in a military hospital in Ankara for the removal of a blood clot from the brain and on Tuesday he was transferred to the occupied areas.

Denktash who is 87 years old also suffered a stroke earlier on in the year.
