A WOMAN is “livid” after landing a parking fine despite paying for a ticket.
Mrs Josif, 44, of Oakleigh Park, Whetstone was issued a fine in High Road, North Finchley minutes after paying for parking using her mobile phone.
She said: “I’m absolutely furious and it makes me not want to go to Finchley.
“Barnet Council are so overzealous about giving out tickets their not checking properly, and I don’t want them to get away with it.”
Mrs Josif, who works as a pastoral support manager at Friern Barnet school, sent an email to the council contesting the fine yesterday.
She said: “I’m livid because I don’t want to spend the weekend thinking about emailing and being inconvenienced.”
A similar incident happened to Mrs Josif’s 17-year-old daughter, Costandia Josif in July.
Mrs Josif said: “Parking is so expensive now, and the pay-by-phone system takes ages to work. Barnet is not a cheap borough to live in so as a resident you start to feel bitter when these things happen. The council should be looking after us.”
