Cypriot Sophia faces chop for charity
Sophia Savvidis of Girton Court braved the scissors to have her long hair cut in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Hairdressers at Hair Razin salon in Roundmoor Drive provided the hair cut free and her pony tail will now be donated to the Little Princess Trust where they make wigs for children who have lost their hair through cancer treatments.
The Turnford School pupil spent three weeks fundraising and collected more than £750 in donations for the cancer charity.
Her mum Maria said: “This was all her own idea and she put a lot of research into it, she discovered how important it was for the self esteem of a young child to receive real hair after going through such a terrible illness.
“She wanted to do her bit to raise money for Cancer Research and I’m really proud of her.”
