A family home and two cars parked outside were vandalised twice in a week by a gang of youths armed with bricks and metal hammers.

Peter Charalambous, who lives at the property in Yarmouth Crescent, on the Ferry Lane Estate, Tottenham Hale, watched from inside with his two elderly parents as a mob smashed all the car windows and hurled bricks at the house.

The first attack took place just before 11pm on Monday, September 19, when Mr Charalambous’s father’s car was targeted. Just two days later on Wednesday, again at about 11pm, his own car and the house windows were smashed.

He said: “I watched as they smashed up my car with bricks and concrete slabs before throwing bricks at the window.

“We’re having all these problems and it’s leaving me too scared to walk through the estate.”

Police said they are investigating these incidents and a number of allegations of anti-social behaviour. Their enquiries continue.

A council spokeswoman said: “We take anti-social behaviour very seriously and have supported Mr Charalambous and his family over a number of years to reduce the likelihood of harassment but we cannot take other action unless he is able to provide additional details – as requested – of the behaviour he reports.”

If anyone has any information they are asked to call Det Sgt Matt Simpson of Haringey CID on 020 8345 1976 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
