The double honour was extended to pupils at Alexandra Park school in Bidwell Gardens, Muswell Hill, on Wednesday, who met Camilla and Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy as they visited to raise the profile and popularity of poetry in schools.

Camilla read one of her favourite verses, Robert Burns’s My Heart’s In The Highlands, as she launched the Anthologise project – a competition for groups of pupils to compile collections of their own favourite works, with the winning team having theirs published.

Miss Duffy is Britain’s first female Poet Laureate, and read W B Yeats’ The Song of Wandering Aengus.
