A car was destroyed in a suspected arson attack in Palouriotissa, Nicosia, during the early hours of Tuesday.
According to the police, the fire services were alerted of the blaze shortly after midnight by the 38-year-old owner of the vehicle.
According to the preliminary investigation the fire had been maliciously set.

ALSO SUSPECTED ARSONISTS torched five cars yesterday morning in a fenced off area in Paphos. According to police, a fire broke out at around 5.40am yesterday, damaging five cars parked in an open, yet fenced off area in the western town. The Fire Service extinguished the fire which managed to completely destroy four cars and cause minor damage to the fifth. Police who examined the scene said they suspect the fire was caused intentionally.

Paphos CID is investigating.
