Police are appealing for witnesses and information after an elderly woman died in a collision in Enfield.

At approximately 1545hrs on Monday, 5 September, a silver Vauxhall Corsa was in collision with the 82-year-old woman as she was crossing Green Dragon Lane, N21.

The woman was taken by London’s Air Ambulance to the Royal London Hospital, where she subsequently died of her injuries.

Next of kin have been informed. We await formal identification.

The driver of the Corsa stopped at the scene. He was subsequently arrested for causing death by careless driving, The 55-year-old man was taken to a north London police station and later bailed pending further inquiries.

Officers from the MPS Road Death Investigation Unit are investigating.
