A butcher in his 20s has died after being stabbed outside the shop he worked in this afternoon, police said.
It is thought the victim was killed in an alleyway next to Morrisons supermarket in High Road, Wood Green, at about 3.15pm yesterday
Paramedics rushed to the scene but he was pronounced dead shortly after they arrived.
Witnesses reported seeing crowds of people and several police vans and ambulances at the scene.
The High Road is closed to traffic in both directions between Station Road and Turnpike Lane Tube stations, with diversions likely to be in place for several hours.
Police have not said where the man received his injuries. No arrests have been made, and an incident room has been set up by detectives from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command.
A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.
