Manager Lawrie Sanchez believes Barnet’s victory at Morecambe could prove to be invaluable come the end of the season.
Mark Byrne’s 35-yard rocket settled a game between two sides tipped to struggle again this season.
Following his side’s 1-0 win at the Globe Arena, Sanchez told BBC Radio London: “We have a tough August and we haven’t got the biggest squad in the world.
“You look where you’re going to get your points. It was a tough game but it is important you pick up points at places like this. It could be vital at the end (of the campaign).
“We had a good pre-season. We have come away with a very professional performance. We had four or five good opportunities to score and it makes long journey home shorter.
“It took us six hours to get up here on Friday, it makes the journey a lot sweeter when you take the three points.”
Well its a good start for Tony kleanthous and the Bees
